Big ol’ Wednesday Photo Dump
Happy Hump Day, blerg. Get ready for a big ass photo dump! Here’s some dreamy silver and purple holographic sequin mesh fabric I felt up at the fabric store last week.
And how about this acid green mesh with holographic flower-shaped sequins? Right up my alley! Instead of buying fabric, I just take pictures of it now. It’s “better” that way. Sigh.
Sometimes dogs have to be walked in the rain, and when it’s REALLY raining (as opposed to the usual mist), only the silver Hunters will do.
For sunny walks, I usually wear my Brooks barefoot running shoes.
Ohhhh that Maggie dog! We’re going to the vet today for her annual check-up. Poor Maggie! Josh has been taking them for 1-2 mile runs three days a week, so on those days I usually keep my afternoon walks with them light (or avoid them altogether, if the weather is really bad). Yesterday they ran with Josh in the morning, and then in the afternoon of course Maggie was raring to go…so I took her for a walk with lots of fetchy fun times…and she’s been limping ever since! Maybe the vet can give us a refill of “doggy” ibuprofen–the bottle I’ve been giving them is from 2013.
I don’t remember what I was looking for the other day, but I stumbled upon my Grey Gardens coloring book that I bought a million years ago! It was a 3 volume set.
I found one of the black lights in a box labeled (would you believe it?) BLACK LIGHTS. Bah ha haaaa. Still don’t know where the other black light is. Doesn’t the neon Mandala look FAB under a black light? Should I add this picture to the Etsy listing??? Probably should.
Here comes the rhubarb. Should I finally get into canning? That seems like a proper housewifey thing to do, eh?
All this rain/sunshine/wind/rain/sunshine means a higher chance of spotting a RAINBOW! And I needed to see a rainbow last Thursday. I was stressed.
I learned a few months ago of someone poisoning dogs at local dog parks, and I found out that day that the dog poisoner had been frequenting a lot of parks I have taken my girls to in the past. Not only that, but the dog poisoner was handing poisoned treats to dogs in parked cars! WTF?
This combined with my lack-of-job stress made me sick. I actually texted with my Broad a little to chill out. Later in the day my green caftan from ebay showed up–I put it on and felt 15% better. Then I learned that the dog poisoner’s car had been identified, and I felt 35% better (enough for a self-portrait in the sun, even).
Then later that evening I watched classic episodes of “In Living Color” via the youtubes and felt 60% better! “Well I ain’t one to gossip so you didn’t hear that from me!”
Huh? Spotted during my thrift day with Fleeta. I liked it until I saw that it was a monkey. You understand.
Feeeeeling this Art Deco panel, in the book about Art Deco furniture Joshy bought me for Christmas.
Also attracted to this Art Deco chair.
I had said no more grapes but when Fleeta presented me with this cluster of red grapes how could I refuse? After all, I didn’t have red! She’s so sweet. I recently learned that such a thing as glitter-flecked Lucite grapes exist…and I immediately texted her!
Love love love the flowering almond tree in our backyard.
Saturday morning I put on my neon I Heart NY tee shirt, as to better arrange the ice pack on my back. My back is still kind of messed up! Craaaaazy! I gotta work on my core strength, I guess. Harumph.
Are you watching the latest season of “Louie”? You should be! SO GOOD.
Back at the Arboretum, beautiful pink camellias. Mmmmm.
I love William Morris’s designs.
Spotted at the garden center, across from the Arboretum. What is it? “Psychedelic cabbage!” said Pinky, one of my favorite psychedelic artists, via Instagram.
Maggie and the tennis ball, a match made in heaven.
Recent library haul. The book on how to watch movies has put me to sleep very effectively the last couple of nights, zzzzzz.
From the ADHD book: look at all the health benefits of owning a dog!
Mural on the wall of the sushi restaurant Josh and I went to on Monday, where we positively GORGED ourselves. Hell yes. I’m gonna absorb as much raw fish as possible before pregnancy!
And HAPPY DAYS one of my most favorite shows in the WHOLE WORLD is BACK! RuPaul’s Drag Race, Season 8! YES! YES! We don’t have the Logo channel, so I have to watch it when it’s uploaded to the Logo website, and so can you! HERE! Let’s discuss in the comments. I don’t have a favorite queen yet.
And finallyyyyy since I have all of this TIME on my hands, I thought it was time to start painting another room of the house. We are slowly but surely turning all of the “eggshell” and earth tones into Liz and Josh-friendly greens and blues. For our bedroom, we are thinking one dark blue “accent” wall and the rest light blue walls.
Yesterday morning I went to the paint store, plunked my teal Adidas shoe up on the counter and asked the paint guy if he could match it. Lo and behold, he DID have the technology! Unfortunately, the suede sucked up light and the color was a bit too dark, but I found just the right shade of teal anyway–in the photo, it’s the one on the left. Today’s goal, after taking my gimpy dog to the vet, is to paint that wall allll teal. Hooray! Have a good week, blog logs. Feel free to discuss drag queens or teal paint with me in the comments.
Just saw this and thought of you!

Ooh hells yes! I want all of it!
