Art Show
Hey-yo. I couldn’t sleep last night/this morning so I popped some slivers of Xanax and now I have a Xanax “hangover”! NO FUN. But look at how pretty my nails are, ooooooh.
On the way to the Pound Art Studio Thursday night to participate in the studio art show. I wore my tried-and-true sequin babydoll dress. It does make me look with child but that also means I can eat as much as I want in it, SCORE.
Green eyeshadow with a smattering of gold glitter and my usual stand-by of berry lips. I suppose I should have gone with red lips to match the nails but eh, I’m not a fan of red lips. Sorry, Dita.
This kid had painted all over a giant piece of wood and was selling chunks of your choice for less than 5 bucks per pound. Cool idea! Josh bought a chunk, of course.
Skulls in the hallway. The turnout was great this year, in spite of the fact that it had been pouring rain all day. Weeeell. No one in Seattle cares about rain. We don’t even use umbrellas!
C’est moi, looking rather Zaftig. I only brought a few pieces of art this time around–less work, hanging them all up and then having to take them all down again. Of course I brought Holly Woodlawn because she just recently passed away.
We went out to eat at a little hipster cafe where all the waitstaff had septum piercings. I ordered fish and chips, completely NOT paleo. Also not paleo: the homemade chocolate cookies Owen’s wife Allison made for the art show. Mmmmmm.
Josh snapped this photo of me walking back to the studio. Rainbow walk!
Somehow Josh didn’t notice this dude, with his silver Lurex dog-print cardigan, teal pants, and green glitter belt, but you best believe I noticed! I wish I had complimented his outfit, dammit. Oh well.
All of the artists had to submit a small piece of art to be auctioned off, and proceeds would go to a “Dog Haven” charity. I submitted my little painting of Hibiscus that I painted years ago (nobody bid on it–shocker) and I bid 15 dollars on this little wax encaustic painting and won! Suh-weet!
Overall, I was thankful that I participated in the studio’s show again–getting dressed up and mingling with artists and art lovers is ALWAYS a good time. Now then. What to do about this Xanax hangover? Gross.
