Mandala Mania!
It’s my latest Mandala painting! “Aqua Floral Mandala”, or “Mandala #4”, available right here.
Acrylic paint, paint markers and lots and lots of holographic glitter (that is now all over my basement, my laundry room and my pets) on a 20 inch round canvas. I like the way it looks against the kitchen wall color.
My desire to run may have recently diminished, but my desire to create Mandalas is going strong! I’ve already started a new one. I have 3 small wooden hearts that I would love to complete before an art show I’m doing on December 10th.
I was semi-sort-of asked to do another art show last night, but they were so flaky and poor about following up on communication I decided it wasn’t worth it. Art shows are a slight inconvenience: you have to get the art ready, make title cards, usually type up an artist’s statement, go down to the space, put up the art, and then stand around all night and try to sell it. I’m okay with all of it except that LAST part always gets me: I always want to walk around and look at everyone else’s art and meet other artists, not try to sell my own. Heigh ho!
I tried my best with the weak November sunshine but that glitter just doesn’t want to gleam the way I want it to, in photos. I should probably make a video, too.
This weekend I plan on doing NOTHING except adding to my box of donations (it’s that time of year…when I want to get rid of shit), working on a new Mandala, shaking the butt around. I’ll probably have to exercise the pets, even though it’s (shudder) 30 degrees outside right now. Gross. Happy Weekend, blog-logs.
