Kauai, Day 4: morning beach fun
Aloha! In the Kauai Chronicles, here we are waking up on Day 4. Josh is taking his stretching very seriously. Nice underpants, buddy.
I was reading an article on Jezebel this morning about how the post-vacation “glow” you feel typically only lasts for one week after you return from a vacation.
Weeeell, sure, I believe it. But does that mean that vacationing isn’t worthwhile? NOPE!
A beach vacation is always my idea of Good Times. Shortly after these photos were taken, we went for a three mile jog on the beach–I didn’t bring the camera, of course, but here’s picture or two on Instagram. In my 20’s I never, ever would have believed I’d be the sort of person to wake up at 6:30 on a vacation and go for a jog. Progress, not perfection!
Joshy’s up in the mountains skiing today, as per usual. I’m waiting for a sun break (Seattle weather: “Keep waiting, sucker!”) to take the animals to the park.
In the meantime, I took a continuing education class on “Dealing with Difficult People” (applies to both work and non-work life too!).
Oh, that beautiful ocean! I’m craving shave ice all of a sudden. And it’s not even 11 o’clock in the morning.
What’s up, little bird? When people ask me what Kauai was like, I always tell them about the abundance of birds. You should know! Be aware! Kauai = bird island!
Our beautiful hotel in the coconut grove. Mmmm hmmmmmm.
I had to prevent myself from buying all of these tropical-patterned duffle bags, especially since the purple turtle print matches a camera bag I bought in Maui. This is a store near our hotel where I purchased The Best Vacation Dress Ever, which will be showcased in the 10,000 photos from the boat ride I post next, so stay tuned!
Thanks to the Jezebel vacation article, I’ve had this song in my head all morning, so you’re welcome!
