For the love of Frye
So about 10 years ago at the peak of my grad school/beer/grilled cheese-based weight gain, I tried a pair of gorgeous Frye boots on at the mall. I can still remember what they looked like–a deep forest green color, with an orange interior. Stunning. I went to zip them up–AND THEY WOULD NOT ZIP. Never would I have imagined that I would be too fat for shoes (this is a fairly common thing now, I’m aware–they make “wide calf” boots). Of course, I never forgot about those Frye boots, or any other Frye boots, for that matter. I could never quite justify the price, but dammit, I still wanted them! So I put them on my Christmas list this year, and lo and behold…I received them! Fleeta warned me that the boots were my Christmas present for the next two years, but you know…I’m okay with that. I mean, JUST LOOK AT THEM.
Of course they just baaaarely zip up with tights/leggings on, so I’ll never be able to tuck jeans into them, but I’m okay with that. And due to my high arches, I can’t wear thick socks with them either, but that’s alright. I wore them to work the other day and basked in the compliments, and you know what? They didn’t hurt my feet at all. Mmmm…..Fryeeeeeee.
I realize this is the second blog entry in a row bragging about my Christmas presents, but next up it’s eyeshadow! Eyeshadow! Because I looked at the funky colors in one of my Urban Decay palettes the other day and decided it was time to do some color experimentation. Yeah!
