A little Halloween magic

front yard graveyard
Spooooky! We said we weren’t going to do all of the Halloween decorations this year, since we aren’t throwing our annual Halloween party (sniff, sob). Of course, once the Tupperware box of Halloween decorations came out, I got excited all over again! Like Christmas! Only with more spiders! Josh set up the graveyard in our front yard, and I put up a few decorations in the house. At least I don’t have to deep clean the house for guests this month, sheesh, talk about boring.

sometimes they come back
Sometimes…they come back! This is how I dressed for yesterday’s nephew birthday/Halloween party. I made the spider skirt a more “conservative” length so I can also wear it to work.

spider skirt, eyeball kneesocks
Josh’s grandfather said he loved my outfit, but that the shoes didn’t work for him. When I asked him what shoes would have worked better, he couldn’t say. Uh huh.

neon wig and skeleton tee
The wig was a big hit, of course. And I love the skeleton tee-shirt–it’s what I’ve always wanted. Dreams coming TRUE! I also wore some dangly bat earrings that I’ve had since middle school. I kept all of my obnoxious 90’s earrings, and now I can wear them again, as a 30-something immature adult, “ironically”. Isn’t nostalgic hoarding fun?

spooky
Crushingly depressed over the lack of Halloween-themed nail stickers in my neighborhood, I ordered these silver glitter spiderweb stickers on Amazon. Pretty pretty?

pin the tail on the Transformer
It was a Transformers-themed birthday party, so the kids got to pin…something…on the Transformer.

Tori is very pink
Tori’s been hamming it up for my camera for years now. A girl after my own heart.

Alyse lights the candles
Speaking of hamming it up, Chris always notices when I’m taking a picture and smiles. Note Joshy and his skeleton tee-shirt standing next to him. He wants us to paint our faces Day of the Dead-style for Halloween–I’m in full agreement. I love Day of the Dead style!

Poor kid–I’m pretty sure he’s developing the nasty cold that kept me miserable last week. It’s still hanging around in the form of a hacking cough. Today’s goals are to hit up my regular grocery store one last time before the strike begins (at 7 p.m.), and then it’s time to start painting PHYLLIS! I’m so excited.
