Dressing up, flowers, and book advice
Happy Tuesday, blerg! Here I am dressed up in an ultra-comfortable floral dress I purchased at “Eyes of the World” last year. It accentuates my fupa a smidge but I refuse, in my old age, to wear Spanx. The majority of the time I refuse to wear underwire, too. No more wire underwear! No more wire underwear!
The tree overhead was covered in web, I discovered when I looked up. Gross. Can’t wait for Spider Season to be over. Our landlord came over last Friday to fix the refrigerator and I actually made him go into our bedroom and kill a giant wolf spider that was in a curtain fold (WTF, spiders?), which he did without mocking me too heavily.
Pretty soon we’ll have to say good-bye to these flowers. I’m not as sad about it as Corinne, who put in her first garden this year and is really depressed that it’s about to die. She started an Instagram account to take pictures of her flowers and cat, it’s here! Check ‘er out.
I was mostly dressed up to re-visit my paintings at Populuxe. Josh took this picture of me posing outside Populuxe, on the street, in that wonderful golden afternoon sunlight.
We sat outside and he had a sampler; I had a Pellegrino. He took a picture of me holding the glass of Pellegrino and my mother asked me over the phone, “What were you drinking?” He had captioned the photo on Facebook with exactly what we were drinking, but nonetheless I said, “Pellegrino.”
“What’s that?”
“Flavored water.”
“Ohhhh…”
Like what, I relapsed after 5.5 years and was so happy about it that I had Josh take a picture of me and put it on Facebook? Sigh. Oh Mumsie.
Somebody made a new friend! Look at the expression of adoration on that dog’s face, maw.
I’m kind of obsessed with these huge thistle plants.
Today’s goal is to go to the gym, even though I still feel like I’m flirting with a cold, and work on my rainbow platform shoe painting. Maybe I’ll hit up the library–I desperately need a big ol’ book or 10 to cozy up with. Any recommendations?
