Two birthday parties and a little Broad video
My outfit last Sunday, post-32 mile bike ride.
Full ensemble. I love this dress–I wear it all the time during the summer months. It’s as comfortable as a nightgown. I made the mistake, however, of wearing shoes with a heel–I’m not sure if they contributed to the foot pain I had for most of last week, but I’m going to guess YES. This is why I’m not a heels person.
We drove over to Bellevue to attend Josh’s cousin’s son’s birthday party. We had gone to a “learning” (i.e.: expensive) toy store earlier in the day to purchase a present. It was the first time we had been over to his cousin’s house, so of course on the tour I snapped photos. This is the birthday boy’s room. They let him pick the colors. I find red claustrophobic…
…but I loved the teal and purple theme in Tori’s room. Note the Justin Bieber fetish. Kids these days!
We met George the rabbit (at least…I think that was his name) and Marla the dog.
A whole lot of family showed up, including sweet little Ronia. Aren’t her mint-colored kitty mary janes fabbuu?
“Can Auntie Liz borrow those shoes?” I asked her.
“Nooooo,” she chided me. “They’re too small!” Darn.
We hung out at the birthday party until everyone started eating, and then it was time to go pick up the Birthday Broad in beautiful Lake City (note the graffiti). I brought the glitter birthday tiara for her to wear, and she kindly put it on long enough for me to snap a few photos. What a gal!
She requested Indian food at Saffron, where we took her and Christopher last year for his birthday dinner. The food is really, really good. I love the butter chicken and saag paneer, creamed spinach with chunks of Indian cheese (which sounds gross but is delicious).
Our waiter, who was young, mocha-skinned and adorable (Corinne was definitely paying attention), offered to snap this photo of us. And then…
…Corinne amazingly allowed them to sing “Happy Birthday” to her and present her with a free slice of the BEST baklava around, which we all remembered fondly from our last visit. The baklava alone is worth a trip to Saffron!
In current news, I’m working tomorrow and Wednesday. Today I’m dealing with a leaking refrigerator and a looming, boring “to do” list. Join me later this week and I’ll discuss going to Edmonds beach AND my very first time at PAX! Thrills, chills, and false eyelashes!
