Broad date, Dick’s, and Populuxe
We’re night blogging, yeah night blogging…hallo blog. I missed you. Sort of.
Here’s Corinne and I looking FIERCE on our date last Thursday. We went to Cost Plus, where I purchased thank you cards and two new couch pillows, and she purchased a candle holder and gnocchi which she later told me tasted “like plastic“. “Good thing I didn’t buy the butter chicken,” she added.
I prevented her from buying crepes. “Crepes have like three ingredients!” I may or may not have yelled. Don’t go to Cost Plus on an empty stomach! They have AISLES devoted to different kinds of chocolate…it’s just too much.
When Auntie Corinne is over it’s Maggie and Bear Cub’s time to act crazy and beg her for fetchy fun times. After Josh came home from work, the three of us ate cheeseburgers at our favorite place, Dick’s. Mmmmmmm.
Then we got a tiny bit lost on the way to Populuxe (thanks a lot, GPS from 2006 that I refuse to update because it costs 60 bucks). Ne’er mind, Josh gave us a nice little tour of Fremont. Look at that cool building!
Ta daaaah! The beautiful blue exterior of Populuxe Brewing in Ballard where (as I’ve mentioned previously), 19 of my paintings will be hanging and for sale until October. YAY!
Across the street. One of the owners of Populuxe told me that a dude opens the shop up “when he feels like it”. If it’s ever open when I’m at Populuxe, I’ll definitely check it out. The neon mannequin beckons me!
It was a hot summer day, so the tables outside were packed. We sat inside, to look at the paintings and wait to see if one of Josh’s co-workers that he invited showed. He never did, but our feelings weren’t hurt.
My buddies! I had a blood orange-flavored Pellegrino, and it was delicious. Corinne had water, and Josh worked his way through a “sampler” of various beers…
…and whatever this was. Ah hahahahaaa.
Corinne cementing her Crazy Cat Lady status even further by attempting to pick up this random cat hanging out by the Porta Potties. Uh huh.
Random cat germs aside, it was a fun night!
Can’t you tell by our faces? Good Times!
Tonight we watched “Mental”, starring Toni Collette, directed by the guy that did “Muriel’s Wedding”. It was better than we expected. I thought maybe I was developing plantar fasciitis earlier this week but perhaps it’s just time to buy shoes with this thing…called “arch support”? Yyyyyeah. Siiiiiiiiigh. Goodnight, blog logs.
