Eye shadow, brows, and art inspiration
Here I am on Saturday, testing out some pink shadows from my faaaabulous Urban Decay palette. I keep trying pink eye shadow, but I can’t shake the feeling that it doesn’t work on me. My mother saw this photo of me wearing “Woodstock” shadow and said I looked “cross-eyed” (thanks, Mom) and then “stoned” (I wasn’t). Well, ya gotta shake things up sometimes, eh? It can’t always be green eye shadow, can it?
Another goal for 2013 (I have so many): perfect my eyebrows. I’ve been Googling “how to do blonde eyebrows” and everyone has a different opinion on products that work, that’s for sure. One of these days when I’ve worked more hours so I feel less guilt I’ll toddle over to Sephora and let them have a go at my translucent schmears.
I could always just wax them off and pencil them in, a’la Mae West in the 30’s and Drew Barrymore in the 90’s (I seriously love me some 90’s Drew Barrymore). Kidding! I just really want Camille Belle’s eyebrows. Please and thank you.
The Boy and I were supposed to tag team babysit the kids tonight, but Elliot has apparently caught the flu that Ronia had last week. I know I’ve said this before, but it’s still a little shocking to me how often kids get sick! Which means parents of young children must be sick all the time too. Ugh. No fun. I feel like my body has been “flirting” with getting a cold for weeks but I’ve managed to keep it away with a solid 8 hours of sleep every night and vitamins. And garlic. Man, do I love garlic.
I watched a documentary called “The Love Goddesses” to get pumped up with inspiration. Make-up inspiration, hair inspiration. Art inspiration. Speaking of which, “The Jealous Curator” is my most recent obsession–she has a fabulous collection of artists and their work. Inspiration for daaaaaaays.
Here’s my hard-working meeeeyaaaaaaan. He put in ten hours yesterday, poor little guy. I put in 6 and felt pretty good about myself. As you can see, “Bearduary” is in full force. It doesn’t bother me. I’m just glad he worked out of his “old man hair” phase–that was not the look.
Today’s goal: gymeroo. Not exciting, but necessary. I’m feeling a little grumpy but nothing that 30 minutes on the Elliptical trainer with a fat fashion magazine and the Scissor Scissors blaring in my ears can’t fix. Considering another painting. Considering adding more prints to my Zazzle store. That is all.
