Lay-deee, pain and fur

winged eyeliner and pink lipstick
Having another go at winged eyeliner the other day, plus a splash of Make-Up Forever fuschia lipstick + a fabulous sequin-encrusted hat by Corinne. I realized after I posted a close-up of my eye make-up to Instagram that I forgot to put on mascara. The black eyeliner next to my blonde eyelashes was not…er, hawt.

heating pad
This lay-deeee threw her neck/left shoulder out last Thursday, and the pain lasted three days. I couldn’t go to the gym, hang out with Corinne, or babysit at the Manse the first day–I couldn’t even turn my head to the left. I iced, used the 1970’s heating pad my mother gave me (shown here), took Ibuprofen, and whined to whomever had the misfortune of calling me that day. The pathetic thing is, I’m pretty sure my injury was not caused by painting or working out, but by laying on the couch sideways, playing “Draw Something” with the Boy. Injuries caused by being lazy! The nerve.

Pam Anderson
This is not the look.

little Liz
This might be, though: a lavender dress, matching Mary Janes and a bowl haircut. Little Liz with my favorite childhood bear, Christy. As a child I was more into bears than dolls. That really hasn’t changed, has it?

furry friends
Why, just look at these three furry creatures right here! Staring at me. Our house is covered in dog hair. Sometimes I pull a dog hair out of my mouth. Maybe a Bernese Mountain dog isn’t the best idea? Hmph.

flapper painting in progress
The current painting. You would never know that I used a photo of Jennifer Connelly as my source material–this flapper is looking more and more like Shalom to me, who I have painted before.

I was supposed to babysit this morning, but Brenna texted me last night and said Ronia had a fever of 103 and she didn’t want me exposed to it. I appreciate that, as I’ve been on an impressive run without getting any kind of illness. Poor little Ronia, though! That girl is sick a lot. I haven’t had the flu since I was a child, and I never get the flu shot. Great, now that I’m bragging about my good health watch: I’ll get sick. Happy Monday! Hug a dog today.
