Birthday weekend (the end)

Liz & the Sisters 1
Niiiight blogging, feels so riiiight. While the Boy and I were strolling around downtown last Saturday, we ran into the Sisters with candles for World AIDS day. The Boy (I did NOT prompt him!) ran up to them and asked if he could take my picture with them. Maw! He knows what makes me happy!

Liz & the Sisters 2
I had actually met Sister Mary Tyler Moregasm before, at Pride 2009. I recognized her face. Love those Sisters!

space needle in the morning
Sunday morning. The Boy took this shot from our hotel window, which is pretty impressive. One of the features of my camera that I like (that still works, unlike the LCD screen) is the zoom.

pack light stay fit
Fresh workout clothes and shoes delivered to your room? Sweeeet. I like New Balance. I didn’t work out at the hotel, but it’s good to know they provide that service.

Seattle in the morning
The beautiful, rare Seattle sun stayed out long enough for me to apply my make-up.

a park on a building
Look, it’s a park on a building!

bridge view
The Boy took photos with my camera during my hair and make-up process.

blue eyeshadow and matching earrings
He bought me these aqua-colored crystal earrings and a coordinating ring for my birthday presents, so I matched my eyeshadow to the color of the earrings. Still feeling that aqua color!

room service
After my shower, we had room service delivered, yay! It was our first time ordering room service breakkie. Overpriced? Yomp. Still fun? That’s right!

glorious shower head
Speaking of the shower, I didn’t get a big tub with jets like I wanted, but this “waterfall” shower head just about made up for it. Deee-lite-full.

snarf
The Boy snarfs down a sundried tomato. We ordered two breakfasts and split them, to get the best of both worlds.

Sephora goodies
The Sephora haul: some fabulous floral nail stickers (I’ve turned my sister-in-law onto nail stickers too–what’s not to like? THREE WEEKS without having to re-do your nails?!), metallic green nail polish with gold glitter flecks, the free birthday gift, and the 100 point gift–old lady face cream that I haven’t tried yet.

some legs
I took Helga‘s advice (thank you dahling!) and am currently using the free photo editing program “Photo Scape” to edit my pictures. So far, I like it! For this photo of my face and the Boy’s legs I used a filter called “Bloom” that makes everything glowy.

jump
Wouldn’t you?

Joan Rivers
We watched a little t.v., which reminded me why I don’t like t.v., 1. the commercials and 2. there’s never anything on. We watched this fashion police show for the first time. Love that Kelly Osbourne!

liz at the window
I wanted to stay longer!

Pike Place Market
We had to check out by noon, so we walked over to Pike Place Market, one of my favorite places to go in Seattle. I never seem to get down there as often as I’d like. So much eye candy! Entertaining people watching! Art! Crafts!

Christmas pigs
Pigs!

checking out wooden longboards
Checking out some beautifully made wooden longboards and cutting boards. Although it was a cold, windy and rainy day, Pike Place was packed–lots of people doing their Christmas shopping.

the tie dyed tee shirt stand
Years ago I bought a purple tie-dyed bicycle tee-shirt from this stand and I still wear it all the time. I bought an aqua tee-shirt with a happy little tree on it this time around. The vendor was so nice! Mostly all the vendors are. I’ve had nothing but good experiences.

J at PP
The Boy had his contacts in from that morning, when he went swimming in the pool while I slept. He said it was filled with noisy children, so I didn’t feel bad about missing out.

gorgeous fingerless gloves
If I had an endless supply of cash, can you guess which of these cute fingerless gloves I would have bought? The aqua ones with stars, of course!

blues bouquet
Love all of the beautiful flower bouquets. They are always reasonably priced.

colorful artist
This artist was really cool. We chatted briefly about art and mutual love of neon colors. He had no ego and no problem with me taking pictures, always appreciated.

GMC
I like his style.

wall of crosses
And finally, what is a trip to Pike Place Market without a stop at Milagros? My favorite thing to do is purchase one of the crosses while I’m there, and I did find one that caught my eye.

teal and silver cross
This little guy came home with us. It was on sale!

little bowl
Sigh, Milagros, don’t ever change. The woman working there (who graciously allowed us to take photos in spite of the NO PHOTOS signs all over the store) said the owner opened up a second store, just a few blocks away from the original. Next time!

Phew! Was that a photo dump, or what? I may try to get another blog entry in before the Big! Gay! Explosion! touches down Monday afternoon; we’ll see.
