a nature walk (part 1)
On Thursday of last week we went to Discovery Park for the first time, a 543 acre natural area park, and Seattle’s largest city park.
We did the 3 mile trail loop with the rogs, who were unfortunately on leashes the entire time. Damn rules and regulations.
This was the day I was feeling dizzy, but I figured getting out of the house and walking would at least take my mind off of it. The dizziness dissipated after maybe the first mile, but the last mile of the walk was exhausting for me. Needlessly, I might add. I’m not that out of shape. I blame the low carb diet.
I expected nothing but oranges and reds and yellows, but there was still quite a bit of greenery along the path.
Three butts that I never get tired of looking at.
My next painting will have fall leaves in it. I’ve been so inspired lately!
The forest area eventually thins out as you get closer and closer to the beach. That little tree still had fruit clinging to it. Crabapples?
We didn’t meet very many people on our travels.
One man came up to us with a friendly black dog, and said, almost under his breath, “You guys ever go…off leash?” like he was asking about drugs or something. He went on to tell us that the open meadows were fine to let your dog off the leash. I told him I read a review on yelp about a woman who went to Discovery Park, let her dog off the leash and then received a 150 dollar ticket in the mail, and I didn’t want that. So: dogs remained on leashes.
Join me for part 2 later on: a glitter tree! Huge leaves! And the beach!
You are still so damn young looking. Hate you (love you).
