Hiking with the homies
I am so very far behind with my photos. That always happens when I work! This past week I worked at three different buildings (in one day), which was interesting. I get paid for drive time, which RAWKS. Now if I had about 6 more months of steady work, we’d finally be able to afford a down payment on a house. Sigh. Sniff. Soooome daaaaaaaay!
These photos are from sometime last month, when the Boy and I and the rogs drove up to Snoqualmie Pass to follow a trail that was detailed in a unfortunately inaccurate book called, “The Best Hikes with Dogs in Western Washington”. Inaccurate because with the car we made several wrong turns, not to mention the distance measurements were incorrect. We also screwed up a few times on foot, adding an extra hour of walking time.
The trail was eventually supposed to lead to a “turquoise lake”, but we never made it because the trail itself was so insanely steep my body just gave up at a certain point.
About the time we sat down to eat lunch, actually. My body said, “NO MORE!” The next day I could barely walk.
Walking downhill, I was able to actually enjoy the scenery, which was pretty pretty.
Because of my lack of stromph, I have been left at home today with the girls while the Boy goes off on a mountain adventure with his crazy uncle. The Boy will go at “Liz speed”; his crazy uncle will not (so I’ve heard).
The Boy pointed out to me that his crazy uncle and younger brother went camping together this year, then didn’t talk for something like a month afterwards. Well, I don’t want that.
I’ll just go to the gymeroo and do the Elliptical trainer with a nice fat magazine and then I’m considering going to the fabric store. See this dress? I love the esthetic but I think I can make it for much cheaper. I love Halloween fabrics! I’m thinking about making some Halloween-themed pettipants too, wouldn’t that be adorable?
We both went to REI last night and purchased hiking boots (I’m going to pair mine with paisley tights and take some self portraits later), so next weekend we can go hiking together. At my speed, dammit. And with dogs!
