San Fran love Part 12: the end

Can you believe we’re at the end of the San Francisco blog entries? Can you believe it took me 3 weeks to do it? Yes–I’ve been working, after all–or “work schmerk per-lerk”, as I used to call it. I like working–as long as it’s around 6 hours a day. Perfect. Just enough. So without further ado…

chandeliers at the Plaza Hotel
The Boy and I went to the rather lush Plaza Hotel our last day in San Francisco to check out a Maxfield Parrish painting. He’s one of my favorite artists. He painted until age 91!

We thought we’d get a little lunch, too. Turns out the painting is in the bar…

The Pied Piper, by Maxfield Parrish
Ta da! As you can see, it’s quite large. It’s a beautiful painting; these photos don’t do it justice.

We ate in the bar so we could gawk at the painting at the same time. I had the most magnificent crab melt I’ve ever had in my life, so trust me–go to the Plaza Hotel for a crab melt and look at the Maxfield Parrish! It’s worth it!

Then we headed over to Mission Street to check it out. I read online that it was a “unique” and “colorful” experience. It was kind of…dirty.

Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem
Here’s the bar my cousin works at, “Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem”, which is a great name. We went inside to look around, and it was nice.

More Burners! Sigh.

I suppose Mission Street is fine if you want to buy cheap shoes or jewelry or toys or purses. Or get some ethnic food. I wasn’t impressed. Heigh ho!

Oh GOOD-BYE San Francisco, you are always a good time and we’ll be seeing each other again!

Now blog-logs, what are you doing this weekend? Let me live vicariously through you. I want to go to the costume store, bbbbaaaaad! October is nearly upon us!
