San Fran, Part 3: the wedding
Welcome back! Here we are at my cousin’s wedding, on a beautiful sunny afternoon in Berkeley.
Here’s Mumsie! Wearing Aunt Lisa’s pearls and pants, of course. She did actually go out and purchase a dress but returned it almost promptly because it “wasn’t her”. She’s not a skirt/dress kind of woman.
Unlike her daughter. Man, I’ve gotten fat and I haven’t been wearing pants at ALL. I’ve managed to get away with it so far at work because I own an extreme amount of skirts and dresses, phew.
We both gained 4 pounds on this trip. The Boy is actually the fattest he’s ever been in his whole life! Chunk a lunk a ding dongs. Maybe I can convince him to start working out at night with me again. Now that I’m working, night time is the only time I have to work out.
My beautiful knocked-up cousin Erika with her husband and stepson. Her heel broke immediately. Damn you Macy’s! Your quality has gone WAY downhill.
The groom, on the far left, and his brother Kyle, with red hair. My family is filled with blondes and redheads.
Flynn looked very handsome. I’ve always loved him. He’s smart, athletic, good-looking and funny and an artist–what more could ya want?
I liked the bridesmaids dresses and how they were all different. My dress kind of matched theirs.
Molly, the bride, looked lovely. We met her last year at Erika’s wedding.
Flynn asked my mother to read a prayer during the service. She was nervous, but did fine. It wasn’t until after the service that she somehow fell into a hole in the lawn and twisted her ankle. Like spazzy daughter, like spazzy mother!
Maw. “A dweam wiffin a dweam.”
Oh my God. Seriously, I am not 5 feet tall and 200 pounds. This is a terrible angle, Josh!
I like wedding services that are short and sweet, don’t you?
Afterwards there was lots of posing on the lawn for professional photos, so I nabbed a few as well.
Kyle gave the best speech, because he is (and has always been) intelligent and funny. He even shed a few tears, which made it all the more charming. Molly’s triplet (!) brothers, on the other hand, were a little drunk and pretty much embarrassed everyone, but eh, what do you expect from men in their 20’s?
I sat next to Erika at dinner and we talked for a long time, which was wonderful. The dancing was wild and energetic and extremely well-lubricated and lasted until the d.j. quit at 11 pm. The Boy and I danced together longer than we ever have before! Despite the awful ballroom dancing lessons we took in 2008! It was a lovely wedding and when we finally got too tired we only had to walk upstairs to our room to pass out, thanks to Aunt Lisa for reserving a room for us!
Stay tuned for Part 4: Haight-Ashbury!
Her wedding dress is amazing. Your dress is super cute as well. Love the colors.
thanks Ginny!
