Pettipants public, Edie, and a smoothie recipe
Pink paint splatter pettipants, for sale here, tra la la. I took these photos yesterday and yes, I absolutely am wearing flesh-colored stockings. Pasty winter skin? Muh huh. Somehow I just can’t bring myself to break out the sunless tanning garbage yet, as I’m wearing 2 layers of clothing indoors and who’s gonna see my orange-y flesh?
These are my favorite pettipants so far. I’m hoping that each new pair of pettipants I make becomes my favorite. I was telling Corinne on the phone yesterday that I’m not quite ready to branch out into little girls pettipants.
“Who says you have to?” she asked.
“Everyone who has kids says I should,” I told her. “My mother thinks that I’m only marketing to people like me…but I know there’s people like me out there! I’ve seen them…on the Internet!”
“They just need to find you,” she agreed. “And you need to find them!”
Indeed. Where are ya, pettipants public?
The Boy liked this photo the best, not surprisingly.
Thoughts for upcoming pettipants: 1. It’s about time for a line of glitter pettipants, and 2. I should try posing with the pettipants underneath a petticoat. I have two of ’em, might as well. There’s a ton of people out there who wear petticoats!
When I think of glitter pettipants sparkling in the sun I get excited. Oh, it’s on. Right after I finish sewing up all these floral fabrics I bought.
Now that my Edie Sedgwick obsession has simmered down a little, Netflix naturally is streaming “Ciao! Manhattan” instantly. I put it on the other day while I plucked my eyebrows.
Watching “Ciao! Manhattan” while feeling emotionally delicate = mistake! Good Lord. This movie may be a lot of things but it is painful to watch, at times. Should be required viewing in drug education classes as a cautionary tale.
I fast-forwarded through all the sad parts and re-watched the black and white footage from the 60s, before things got too fucked up for Edie.
In the commentary someone mentions that Brigid Berlin does a lot of the “Edie” voice-overs, so I amused myself by trying to figure out which narration was actually Edie and which was Brigid. The voice just isn’t quite right.
Heaps and piles of fashion inspiration in this film? Absolutely. OoohhhHHH those sunglasses, Edie! I miss my big giant oversized black bug sunglasses.
In other news, Yes You Can! make delicious Caribbean Passion (my favorite Jamba Juice flavor) at home. Here’s the recipe!
Caribbean Passion Jamba Juice Recipe
1 cup mango juice (I used POG–passionfruit/orange/guava juice–very popular in Maui)
1 cup strawberries, frozen
1/2 cup peaches, frozen
1 cup orange sherbet
1/2 cup ice
1. Pour the mango juice in the blender.
2. Add the strawberries, peaches, sherbet and ice cubes.
3. Blend until smooth with a thick consistency.
Makes about 3 cups.
The blue skies indicate today is a dog park kinda day. Awwwwrriiiiiiiiiite. Happy Friday!
