2011 recap–Part 2
Oohhkay, a quick recap for the rest of 2011 while it’s still 2011! I need a sense of completion.
I made a bunch of tee-shirts in Zazzle that I had been obsessing over…
I mean, how many years had I talked about making a “no monkeys” tee-shirt? Foreeeeeever. DREAMS REALIZED!!!
Reunited with Erika at her beautiful wedding!
Psychedelic flappers, enhanced a smidge with “Harry’s Filters”.
August
Camping, glorious camping, under massive sizzling power lines!
Self published my drag queen coloring book! Still needs some work before it can be available to the erm, needy public.
Our brief, intense affair with “Mad Men” causes me to have a brief, intense obsession with pearl necklaces, white satin nightgowns and perfectly curled hair.
DIY sparkle cha cha heels! A summer project that I actually started and finished (that’s the hardest part).
Fed up with Seattle’s “summer”, I go to Boise for a week, and the temperature soars above 100 every day. I sunbathe approximately long enough to take this photo and spend the whole week inside in the air conditioning. I’m not crazy.
September
Launched THIS HERE BLOG!
I order the sexiest business cards ever!
R.A.W. artists has me back for another show!
“Woman with Hat”, which I hastily painted for the R.A.W. show, but still think would look good as a two-part painting set.
I order my own “Drag is the Drug” tee-shirt, and surprise! I love it! My optometrist liked it too. I wear it to the gym.
Corinne and I make our petticoat dreams come true-oooh, thanks to “Petticoat Junction”! I’m still working on our portrait, based off of one of the photos from this great series taken by the Boy.
October
New glasses! Also the first eyeglasses I’ve ever had (and I mean since junior high) that I’ve actually wanted to wear in (gasp!) public.
Another quilt! This one still needs to be edged, that’s it, oh, and tied. Dammit. Finishing quilts = no fun.
I get my very first eyelash extensions! I LOVE THEM. I fully endorse “lash crack“, as they say.
I wear the Silver Spaceship out in public, earning praise all night long!
After slaaaving away making our costumes all month long and decorating the house and obsessing over every detail…we both got horribly sick just in time for our annual Halloween party, BOO HOO. It was still fun though. I think. Maybe.
November
I take the horrifyingly accurate Myers-Briggs personality test, and get the exact same result as my mother! Twice. Help me, Rhonda.
Um…Zella leggings come into my life? Sheesh, November was a slow month.
We go to Boise for Thanksgiving…
…and participate in “Buy Nothing Day”! Our third year in a row.
December
Fancy birthday, thanks to the Boy.
Finally, a family Christmas portrait.
What else? I return to the work force. And…that brings us up to date. More or less. I’m sick of this recap! Good-bye, 2011! You were a good year.
