Maui Part 9: a relaxing morning on the beach

Onwards and upwards to Day 4 of the Maui trip.

sunrise
The Boy woke up early enough to capture the sunrise.

morning beachcombers
Because of the three-hour time difference, I woke up every morning around 6 a.m. with ease.

morning from the balcony
We both had amazing amounts of energy in Maui, far more than I seem to have at home.

early morning beach
It’s because Maui = Magic.

We decided to take our morning coffee with us and drive to Slaughterhouse Beach, just the two of us.

aqua rail
This was where I saw my first Maui spider. The Boy’s father told me there weren’t any spiders in Maui, WRONG!

blending in
I think he was just giving me shit. People like to do that, you know, because I have blond hair.

Slaughterhouse Beach
Since it was early in the morning and a little overcast at that moment in time, we had the beach to ourselves.

a morning rainbow
Rainbow!

Posing on a beach with a coffee cup. H-a-w-t.

seaweed feet
It’s important to be barefoot as much as possible.

rocky beach
The rocks were worn smooth from the ocean waves.

some show-offy girl on a rock
Just who does that hussy think she is?

ocean softened rocks
Although no crabs scampered across my bare toes, I saw the movement of them in the shadows of the rocks. They were shy.

purple rock climber
I wish we had gotten a better shot of that purple friend in the foreground. Looks interesting.

red-tinged rocks

barefoot
We spotted a cave that needed a little exploring.

caveman
Aw, turned out to be a fake cave. That didn’t stop the Boy from climbing inside.

sun starting to shine
What a nice, relaxing morning!

My sources (random weirdos at the dog park) have informed me that the weather this weekend is supposed to be NICE! And I’ll take it, Seattle, bring it on! I’m ready.

  1. In all the years I’ve known you I’ve never been jealous of you until now. Looking at these beautiful pics of you and Josh in Maui is turning me green with envy.
