I’ll always remember you like a child, girl

Look who I met last night! Fun artist @susanderrickart at her show in Snohomish. She loves movement, color and shapes, and she dresses to match her art! She was delightful in person. Joshy and I ate at Collector’s Choice, which several old people had reco

Happy March, blerg! It was spring forward today. I am really surprised that my various social medias did not tell me this, and I had to learn it from my phone this morning that I “slept in” until 8:30. Bwa ha haaaaa. Here I am last month in Snohomish, at an art show for a local artist that I like a lot. My first time meeting her! Josh and I also went to a restaurant in Snohomish that had been recommended to me over the years by various elder people and I had the first NOT GOOD Monte Cristo of my life. It’s possible, apparently. For shame!

I’m sick, laying in bed researching Colourpop eyeshadow palettes but this filter makes my skin look GREAT

As is my new habit, I dyed my hair pink in February. This is two dyes–Lime Crime “Bunny” first, which looked pretty lackluster on my now darkening natural blonde hair, followed by Strawberry Leopard in “Bali”, which fared a little better. What I like is the super pale pink that occurs right before it washes completely out. They do make lightly tinted conditioners–I may have to check them out sometime.

I bought myself this cute lil heart necklace from #etsy. 💗

I told Joshy not to bother getting me anything for Valentine’s Day and bought myself this cute, tiny little heart pendant on Etsy for about 30 clams. I haven’t taken it off since.

💗💗💗

Valentine’s Day, with pink hair, my pink heart sweater from Delias (SO OLD!), and my SLP coffee cup, thankyouverymuch.

I love that the little redhead’s new daycare sends me pictures of him throughout the day. Seeing his happy face cheers me up!

The little redhead is loving his daycare three days a week! And I’m loving Mondays, when I have no work and no boys to take care of until 3:30 pm. It’s pretty fab.

I love this extra-large, extra-soft chenille yarn in bright colors.

A trip to Michael’s with the boys. I don’t knit, I don’t crochet, but MAN am I obsessed with these candy-colored chenille chunky yarns! They are so beautiful! I don’t even know what I would make with them.

Recently purchased: my first Colourpop eyeshadow palette. Even without primer, the shadows have great pigment and lasting power. I just wish there weren’t so many mattes. Matte? What am I gonna do with a matte? This one is called “You’re Golden”. Although

It’s been a while since I bought myself a new eyeshadow palette and I’ve never bought anything from Colourpop before. I love this one! I’ve been wearing it every day since I bought it, with the more “experimental” colors on the weekend. I wish they were all sparkle with no mattes, but eh, it’s OK.

Well, this is different.

The little redhead, at least at this point in his life (age 3.4), has a more varied palette than his big brother. Here he is literally chewing on plain lettuce–he ate a lot of it! I was extremely impressed.

I’ve been laid up all week with my back out and have read a TON of “suspense” novels on my Kindle. This is a really good, quick read. I recommend it!

The Kindle, and subsequently the Libby app, where I can read anything from the Snohomish library network for FREE, means that I am reading constantly. Every day, in fact I read a 200 page thriller by Josh Malerman earlier today in 45 minutes. I love how if I’m not interested in a book (which happens frequently), I can immediately return it and not have spent a dime. It’s fabulous.

I threw my back out Sunday night, lifting my 37 pound child out of the bathtub and then twisting. It has been out for an unprecedented 4 DAYS. Whatever I did, it’s pissed. However, that’s not gonna stop me from going to see this magical lady perform at th

The saddest fucking thing that’s happened to me in a while also occurred in February. I was lifting my 37 pound toddler out of the tub, twisting while still holding him to place him on the floor, and BAM out went my back. This was not even a “normal” throwing out of the back, it was the special Twist edition, which means that here it is several weeks later and I’m seeing a PT and I still have pain. I really have pain while sitting–so driving is agonizing, and sitting upright for long periods of time. The first week post-injury was the Tove Lo concert that I had been looking forward to for MONTHS (it was my Christmas present from my in-laws) and I couldn’t go. SHIT. UGH.

Can someone please explain to me what these hateful bigots are so afraid of? That men in wigs will turn the children into gays? Please. I used to dress up my little brother in wigs, glitter and tutus and he grew up to be a staunchly Conservative, heterose

Hot topic for a while now that has caught a firestorm on my social media. What troubles me is now the gay community is turning on itself, yelling at famous gays (like RuPaul) for not saying ENOUGH on their social media. It’s fine to encourage, but hell, saying something on your social media isn’t the fucking end-all of actions to take. Vote! Volunteer! Donate to organizations that will actually DO something! We’re all in this together to stop hate.

Me and my rainbow-loving toddler. I bought his shirt from Primary and was so obsessed with it I bought one for myself! 🌈✨✨✨

I bought the little redhead this rainbow shirt for Christmas and was so obsessed with it I searched the interwebs until I found one in my size. This is in our half-coral painted bathroom. We had a variety of household projects this past month or so that took precedence over the bathroom remodel…but we’ll get there someday.

Dinner out tonight with 2/3 of my cuties.

Goo recently spent an entire weekend with Grammy Kim, so the little guy and the big guy and me went out to Italian dinner one of the nights. Not so great, I might add. Note to self: try a different Italian restaurant next time!

Completed Atlas moth painting for Goo. I’m not super impressed with how the gold leaf turned out, but it was my first try and I know he doesn’t mind!

A new painting for Goo, featuring an Atlas Moth, which he is currently obsessed with. Acrylic paint on wood featuring a new medium for me: gold leaf! It was a little more difficult to work with than I figured, but practice makes perfect.

My lil 1920’s inspired red manicure today. I don’t generally go for pure red and I had to stare at several red polishes before I finally found a nice apple-red. 🍎🍎🍎

I gave myself this 1920’s-style manicure last week after spending ages poring over red nail polishes at the store. I used base coat and two coats of top coat and it still started chipping on Day 2, dammit! If only these home manicures lasted a week.

The boys and I had fun with rainbow scratch paper today.

Fun with rainbow scratch paper with the boys. The paper was one of those items that sat on my Amazon wish list for years and I finally received as a Christmas present this year. It’s cute, but I wish the rainbow paper underneath was foil. That would be even cooler.

Has @iamanetra’s crystal ball gown been appreciated enough? I was wowed. She made this! Flawless execution, and how about the chunky crystals running down the sleeves and spine? Gurrrrrl. @willam mentioned in the podcast that he would wear this look. I’ve

You bet your sweet patoot I’m watching the latest season of Drag Race, I’m even paying an app called “Philo” 27$ a month (I KNOW) to do so. Because it’s still cheaper than getting cable to watch it on MTV. I suspect Sasha Colby will be the winner, but I sure do like Anetra. I was VERY impressed by this gown she made for the crystal ball. She posted up-close pics of the detail on her IG and I was blown away. And this queen can lip sync! I’ve never seen anyone death drop on their TAILBONE before.

Dorks in love ✨

Here’s my sweetie, who watches Drag Race right along with me. Next time I blog, we’ll have been in Hawaii celebrating our 15th anniversary, sans children. Ohhhhh yeeeeeaaaaaaah.
