Somebody’s got Covid (but it ain’t me)
…it’s Josh. Can you believe that it took this long for him to get it? It’s been a good run.
His building is starting to have a lil’ outbreak. The mask mandate here was lifted not long ago. Hmmmm, coincidence?
Hey look it’s my first “art show” of 2022! The little library up the street was asking for tiny paintings to show, so I obliged. Why not? Can you tell which one is mine?
The rest of us, thankfully, are Covid-free. I’ve had two rapid tests and one PCR test in the last couple of days that tell me so. Unfortunately, Bob and Fleeta came into town on the very weekend that their son came down with Covid, although since I haven’t heard anything I assume they are negative.
Josh is also fortunate that he’s been vaccinated and boosted, and that he has the 2022 version of Covid, which is way more mellow that the 2020 version that I had. He was diagnosed just two days ago and today he was varnishing shelves and doing yard work. So.
After two days straight of taking care of my children and all of the household chores from 6:30 in the morning to 8 at night, BOY WAS I GLAD that I was able to return to work today! Last year even if you tested negative, if you were exposed you couldn’t work for 5 days. It was a big pain in the ass.
My mother and I are supposed to go to San Diego in two weeks to stay at my cousin’s beach house (for FREE) but the response from the rest of the family has been lackluster and now she doesn’t want to go. I’m on the fence.
I’m like, four days on the beach! For free! Yes! But also if we get “snubbed” by the family then what’s the point? My idea was to see everyone NOT during Thanksgiving, to take the pressure off.
Speaking of family, Mumsie and I did fly to Idaho last month to meet my brother’s new little baby. She’s very small and very cute and was kind of cranky when I held her (oh well). Grandma Shirley the baby whisperer I am not!
Hilariously, mom and I flew first class for the first time in our lives to Boise. It’s funny because it’s only a one hour trip. I would like to add that the TSA agents in Everett at the new little airport treated us SO BADLY that I actually complained to the TSA manager, and I’m not normally a Karen-type. That was just…weird.
I went to Dragonfly and Eyes of the World, of course! Gotta do it. I do love those stores. I had to buy this mushrooms tank top and the matching dress.
I think Laney liked my mom better than me. Which I am totally okay with, since my mother has a shitty relationship with her daughter in law. Maybe this will balance that out.
I briefly abandoned the vegan diet while in Boise and dined on lobster and mac and cheese. MMMMmmmmm.
This is the new thing I do at work now–my “Parallel Bars Fashion Show”. Of course I only do it if I’m actually dressed up.
Rain aside, this is the prettiest time of year. Our yard is in full bloom.
Yes you should see “Jackass Forever”! I’m just sad that Bam couldn’t get it together to participate.
Here’s a lil wooden turtle I glittered up. It’s for the art show in Ballard I’m (hopefully) doing this summer.
Thanks to my Kindle I’ve been plowing through books this year. I’ve been reading all the mystery, suspense and horror I can. That and my heated blanket have been two of my greatest purchases in the past 5 years. Gee I’m boring!
Here’s the current project, but now it’s covered with gems and beads and glitter and looks pretty fab. I’m going to give it a nice glossy finishing coat next.
Look at these cuties! We had Easter at GG’s which was great as usual but I forgot to take pictures. Whoops.
Have I taken this blonde thing as far as it can possibly go? Is it time to get lowlights and go for a more beachy look? I seem to just get blonder and blonder. That shit is high maintenance!
Self-portrait with my grandmother’s green sead beed necklace. It always seemed over the top when I was younger, but now it seems almost…minimalistic.
Here’s the mushroom dress I bought in Boise, requested by my husband to wear to his birthday dinner. We ate at a vegan restaurant, but had NON vegan ice cream cake from 31 Flavors for dessert! I’m not intentionally not posting the pictures of him, Flickr buried them in a set. He looked cute.
Family hike a couple weeks ago. It’s still cold enough in the shade to need a hat, most days.
That’s the way uh huh uh huh I like it, uh huh uh huh. Time for tea and a movie. I have complete reign over the TV now that Josh is doing quarantine in the basement! What should I watch?
