Mother, May I?
On May the 4th, the Geeks show their Geek Pride! And really, if a tie-dyed Star Wars shirt isn’t the epitome of Geekiness, I don’t know what is.
These cuddles are the best. And I’ll take them whenever they come my way.
Nothing like a trio of shirtless mens in your kitchen, eating teriyaki. Everyone loves teriyaki in this family.
New painting! I was inspired by one of my favorite Paolo Reversi photos of Amber Valetta, and had wanted to paint it for ages. I changed the black and white to color, changed the roses to pink poppies, and changed the face to look a little less gaunt (and serious).
This was my Mother’s Day card that Goo’s school helped him with. I LOVE the age. And what I’m good at. The day before Mother’s Day we went to Hot Cakes in Ballard, where we snarfed grilled cheese and molten chocolate lava cakes and ice cream, while Brenna watched the kids.
Mother’s Day I took TWO naps, walked the dog, and forced my loving husband to make Mom and I bacon carbonara for dinner. YUM.
Josh did some uh, redecorating of the baby’s walls. Don’t ask me!
This was the color of my hair on May 13th. As of typing this on June 2nd, it’s a little less yellow but still not back to “normal”. And I have NO PLANS to dye my hair again any time soon (sob).
In May I fell in love with RuPaul’s “Drag Race” all over again, watching “All Stars” (Shangela and Manila were robbed!), and untucked. I want to watch the latest seasons, but they are all 20$ on Amazon and I can’t bring myself to pay that much.
Goo helped me paint a little birdhouse rainbow. Now we just need to add the glitter!
More progress on poppy lady. I’m taking my time. I see a lot of shimmer on the background as the last step.
The boys and I have been spending as much time in the backyard as we possibly can…and yet, I’m still so pale!
For “Better Speech and Hearing Month” in May, Josh bought me this cute mug.
Hard to believe June is already here! This year is flying by. Certainly a lot faster than last year, which was mostly awful.
We have plans to go to Boise this summer. Plans to go camping. Plans to go to the family cabin. It’s nice to have plans, isn’t it?
For now, I have to put a couple of boys in their rooms for “quiet time” (ie Mommy has a cup of coffee and plays “Panda Pop” time). Ta ta, blog!
