Let’s get bloggy with it
Howzit, blog? I excuse my absence…of one whole month. When I only blog once a month, I feel a little bad when I miss an entry. Here we are dressed up for Halloween! Dracula Big and Dracula Little, Vampira, and the baby was dressed up like an adorable chubby skeleton.
We took the boys trick or treating just on our street. About half of our neighbors handed out candy, which was the perfect amount for a 3 year old. Maybe next year will be better. It has to be, right? RIGHT?!!!
What’s cuter than a ladybug on little kids, I ask ya. Not much.
What’s new around here? Josh is now manager at a different nursing home. That means he stays up all night doing paperwork, leaves for work earlier, and even now, on a Saturday, is upstairs doing paperwork. He’s salary paid, mind you. FUN.
Our babysitter announced that she was raising her price per hour 5$, so I went back to my old job. I’m making the same amount of money per hour. but the commute is 5 minutes instead of 45-50 or even 60+. One way. Yikes.
Pandemic rages on, but we’re about to get a vaccine, so that will be good. We hear it will be offered to healthcare workers and old people first, and Josh and I will definitely get one. As this year was the first time in my mother’s life that she finally relented to getting a flu shot, I seriously doubt I will be able to talk her into the Covid vaccine. Even though she’s more at risk than Josh and I. I no longer work on an all-Covid unit! Woo hoo!
Sometime in the past 6 weeks I embarked on the “Couch to 5K” program, which is great, and I really enjoy it, but I only have time to do it on the weekend and it asks 3 days a week of you, not 2. Ah well.
I also paid 150$ for a Noom membership, which is an app similar to WW where you log your foods and talk in a group format but they throw in psychological “lessons” every day that are supposed to teach you why your brain craves fatty/sugar foods, and helps you supposedly to knock it off. I’ve been doing it for 5 weeks and I’m UP two pounds. Awesome!
I know what I have to do to get back to my pre-baby weight (less than 10 pounds, you wouldn’t think it would be so hard!) and it’s called LOW CARB, DAMMIT. Here’s the Electric Palette I dusted off. Electric!
I could eat this baby, ya hear? He’s running all over, climbing on absolutely everything (he’s gonna be the tree scaler of the family, I know it). Babbling constantly, eating everything I throw at him, including black olives. He’s the best.
…it’s a lifestyle, am I right? Glitter for-e-verrrrrr.
I had a birthday this month! 31, sweetie darling (I WISH) (NO REALLY I WISH). Goo bought me this silver heart pendant and a bath bomb for himself, and Josh bought me the iridescent purple puffer coat I reeeeeeally wanted. It’s fabulous.
I changed it up this year and went to “Display & Costume” instead of Sephora, and was greatly disappointed that they had such a lackluster Christmas display. I just want a tiny silver Christmas tree for “fun”. Instead I bought myself an aqua bobbed wig. And took myself out for sushi. Crab legs and chocolate cake rounded out the day. And did I mention I had donuts too? And I wonder why I can’t lose weight?
WORTH IT. Birthdays only come once a year, Mommy’s diet lasts um, forever.
Is this appropriate, or what?
Also this wreath, which was hanging at Josh’s work.
10 years since we quit smoking! For the final time, that is. I still don’t miss it.
The first gingerbread house we made. I’m so glad I only got the roof partially decorated before the whole damn thing fell apart. We smashed it and ate a little…it was not good.
Merry Christmas 2020! Blog, I’ll catch you in 2021.
