There’s something happening here
Hallo blog. Spring is springing, my baby is cooing, and the whole world is infected with a virus. My, how things have changed in the month since I last blogged!
As compared to my extroverted, extremely social and active 28 year old co-worker who is going through major depression due to this current quarantine, I can’t say my uh, “lifestyle” has changed all that much.
Josh and I still have our jobs. Goo’s daycare remains open, but Josh’s paranoia is forcing me to pull him out starting in April. Hopefully just for the month of April.
I can’t go to the gym any more, but Josh and I are doing the “Whole 30” diet, which (if you follow it completely) eliminates dairy, grain, sugar, and alcohol. Basically all the GOOD stuff. I’m basically following it but allowing myself a string cheese here, blue cheese dressing there. I added in a granola bar and my sluggish weight loss stopped completely, so I need to take it out again.
I do miss the gym. I miss getting my nails done, if I wanted to. I’m REALLY gonna miss Goo going to daycare twice a week next month. And nobody knows when this thing is even gonna peak, much less go away.
Not much we can do, other than wash our hands, disinfect our surfaces, and stay the hell away from people. My 68 year old mother has moved back in with us, and I’m more concerned with her getting it than the rest of the family.
Josh is growing his hair out. What about all the people who have high maintenance haircuts, I wonder?
My twice-a-year trims won’t really be affected by the quarantine.
Mr. Chunks is now 5 months old. He babbles all the time, rolls over like a champ, and sleeps great at night. He’s not too interested in naps, but that seems to be a Holcomb Boy trait!
I still wake him up and breastfeed him at 3 am, and then he sleeps until 7 usually. His bedtime is starting to get earlier and earlier. I can’t wait until it’s 7 pm!
We go outside when we can, although the playgrounds are all closed now. Josh and his father cleared out the giant fallen tree in our backyard, so we have the backyard available again.
Bear Cub has 100% taken over all of Maggie dog’s duties now. She follows me around the house, stares at me for no reason at all, begs at the table, and snores in her sleep.
A little green for St. Patrick’s Day. Josh doesn’t want to go to his grandparents’ house this year for Easter and potentially expose them to any virus we might be harboring. Boooo.
I have a new painting project! Well, ongoing. Rita on paper on wood. I can’t wait to add the GLITTER.
And finally, no stinkin’ virus threat is gonna interfere with WIG WEDNESDAY!
You see? Even Bear Cub participated. Hopefully the next time I blog I’ll have good news to report! Siiiiiiighhhhhhhhhhhh.
