Dreaming of spring
Hi blog! I had my hairs done last month. By some exciting twist of fate when I made the appointment, I booked with my wedding stylist, who had returned from an extended maternity leave. She convinced me to get some low lights along with the highlights, and added a cool toner to the whole shebang to get rid of that awful yellow color. Voila! Happy hairs!
I’m back to work again! Just 3 days a week, which is perfect, because my commute ranges from 35 minutes (best case scenario) to over an hour (ugh). The two days I’m not at work, Goo is in daycare, so I have some alone time with the little redhead.
I have to pump at work, which is annoying, but it won’t last forever.
In the meantime Goo enjoys his twice-weekly school trips. Well, he often tantrums in the morning…but he’s fine when he gets there.
My mother has been gone since the end of last month, but she will be returning to live with us again soon. The reason? My parents are getting divorced. Since I suspect no one reads this blog anyway, I don’t mind talking about it. I found out that my mother was going to divorce my father on accident, via a text message that was only supposed to go to my Aunt Lisa, as I was walking into physical therapy one day. Sometime before my 40th birthday.
Now that I’ve had about 3 months to process the information, I suppose I’m at the “acceptance” level. Also being a mom two times over has really drastically improved my ability to handle stress. I know for a fact that 30 year old Liz wouldn’t be this cool about her parents getting divorced.
My mom is unhappy and my dad is never going to change, so what is she supposed to do, spend the rest of her life living in a state she no longer wants to live in, in a torn-up house that never gets fixed, with a man who has no respect for her, away from her grandchildren? I don’t want that for her.
She’ll be moving back with us, for a while. Until she has a car and a job and enough money to find a little place to live, although the prices of everything around here concern me. My babysitter doesn’t even live on a good street and she pays 1300$ a month to rent a small two bedroom apartment.
What else is new? My pelvic floor is still a hot mess, going on 3 months now. I started acupuncture last week, as the PT is getting me nowhere. Ugh. It’s the worst.
At least my hair looks good!
I bought myself this “inspiring” coffee cup for Valentine’s Day. I’m still going to the gym, and I’ve started eating salad for lunch every day. The post-partum weight loss continues to be hellaciously slow. Could those two donuts I snarfed this morning be to blame? Ha ha haaaaa.
New art project! Rita Hayworth. She was so gorgeous.
Yesterday I went and had my nails shellacked for the first time in over a year. Something sparkly and feminine for spring. Hey, is it spring yet?
