You don’t have to be rich to be my girl
Hiya blog! WordPress just went through yet another update and the template to construct this blog entry is weeeeeird so if this looks all messed up, blame WordPress. I know I will!
“Derry Girls” is a really funny little 6-episode season on Netflix about Catholic teenage girls in the 90s in Ireland. Watch it if you like funny shows. I do! I do!
Let’s see. What has been going on in the month since I last blogged?
Well, Luna died, for one. The really crazy part is, I had been walking Maggie outside at the park and I thought of Luna that day. Later I was on the phone with Corinne, and Nico texted me to tell me that she died, and I immediately started crying, because I had just been thinking of her THAT DAY! Later on the wife of a patient of mine said that Luna was on her way to the Rainbow Bridge, and she stopped by and said goodbye to me. I love that.
Stress from all-day morning sickness and heartburn (which ironically I have since gotten rid of, with a combination of B-6 and Zantac) led to an unfortunate flare-up of my damn pelvic floor tightness, which I haven’t had an issue with since last summer, when various baby sicknesses conspired to bring it back for a month. It’s been three weeks so far. It was going into remission, sort of, when all of a sudden, we were hit with…
LICE! Oh man. What a colossal pain in the ass. I had to leave work last Tuesday, take the baby out of daycare, and then Josh and I had to take shifts watching him and then going back to work. Then I had to pay the sitter to watch him on Wednesday and Thursday (80$ per day).
Then luckily Bob and Fleeta came to town, and Fleeta watched him on Friday while I worked kind of a long day for me (6 hours). Meanwhile, combing baby head three or four times a day, washing everything with hot water, vacuuming, stress stress stress.
I will never underestimate again just how awful lice are. As of the writing of this entry, the baby has been lice-free for two days and is back in daycare. I’ve had my phone on me all day, and so far…no phone calls to pick him up. PLEASE LORD NEVER AGAIN.
Next month this fluffy butt needs to be groomed.
This made me cry with laughter! My favorite Amy Schumer special yet. Maybe it’s because I’m pregnant and so is she, or maybe it’s just really funny.
Guess who has become obsessed with Marie Kondo and has gone through their entire clothing collection and then persuaded their spouse to go through alllll the books?? No, not me, silly! Josh! I went through my sock drawer and felt good about THAT. Don’t even get me started on my dress collection…
This time of year, I just want to gaze at flowers. I love spring.
Every spring I play this dumb game and usually I only win free donuts. But maybe that’s enough.
My second son is currently 11 weeks and 2 days old. My boobs are big and hurt, and my size medium workout pants are now too tight, but other than that I am still wearing my old clothes. I have no idea how much weight I’ve gained, but I’m not as hungry as I was with M and that’s a blessing.
I haven’t been craving sugar too much, but I certainly wouldn’t turn down a Dole Whip. Mmmmmmm.
Oh shaggy Maggie! I was so busy with the lice last week that we only went on two dog walks, despite the weather being gorgeous.
More progress on my “spring lady” painting.
Sunshine is so good for me. The weather forecast for this week shows a bunch of rain clouds…I hope they don’t mean it.
I went and had a beauty treatment done!
I had a lash tint. I know, from this photo it doesn’t look like anything. But my formerly translucent lashes are now black, and it’s supposed to last 8-12 weeks, not bad for only 20$.
Awwww special Goo and Daddy on St. Patrick’s Day. Is he the cutest?? I think so.
Trying on his skis! Josh found them at an REI garage sale for only 30$, including some tiny poles as well. He’s taken him out once. I’m so glad I don’t have to be involved…yet. Probably when number two comes along I’ll have to go. Ugh. Brrrrrr.
There’s number two! Having an ultrasound is always a relief, because they don’t get big enough to kick you (to where you feel it) for AGES, so you don’t really know how your baby is doing until you see them on the ultrasound. Josh told me later that he was really nervous for this one. Baby C waved his little nubs at us!
YUM. Current favorite afternoon snack, especially with a bowl of fresh grapes. Mmmmmm.
Oh man. There is just way too much to blog in a month. Maybe I’ll come back in a week or so and blog again…hopefully my pelvic floor will be back to normal! Yes! Ta ta for now.
