New new new!
Hello blerg. It’s fun to tease your mother sometimes.
Here’s Maggie dog with a hangover on January 2nd. Their sedative medication says to give 1/2 to one pill, and I gave them each one, and sure they slept through the fireworks that night but they barely moved the next day. I had to put Maggie’s vest on and HAUL her doggie ass up and down the stairs to go potty. Whoops. Maybe just 1/2 a pill next time.
So what’s happening around here? Baby M turned 2, and had a party with a Lego cake made by moi. I’m barely working, thanks to a stupid virus that swept through our facility and knocked down about 23 patients.
They halted admissions for about a week, but that was TWO WEEKS AGO and there hasn’t been a single admission since. WTF? Believe me if the nurses and admissions people’s jobs depended on getting admissions, they’d be A LOT more pro-active.
Today I asked the head nurse what was up. “Well,” she said, “We don’t want to take the drunks, the tweakers, the homeless…”
“Well sure,” I replied.
“The smokers…”
The SMOKERS? Since when are we not admitting smokers? “Slap a patch on em!” I told her.
“But then they might have someone sneak in cigarettes for them, and we have to honor that…” she said.
I’m thinking they’re looking for excuses here. Yeah, “honor” the cigarettes by throwing them in the trash, helloooooo. I need work!
I put some feelers out to a couple of my old bosses for work. I really hope I don’t have to start looking for a new job, I like my job, I just wish it was more consistent.
One of my IG friends commissioned me to paint Louise a couple of months ago. You can’t tell from this photo, but I used pearlescent pigment for the pearls and also painted the sides of the painting with black glitter. It really turned out lovely. Now I’m painting his cat.
Unfortunately his cat painting is taking a little longer. I’m using a triangle canvas, which is fun, but after I started painting the cat I suddenly remembered he wanted the triangle upside down so I have to start all over. Drat!
Here’s “Redhaired girl with pink flowers” in her forever home, thanks to blogfriend Liz! Yay!
We finally got our Ken Loyd print matted and framed. It fits in nicely with the rest of the Hawaiian kitchen decor.
Here’s the triangle canvas. I’ve never painted on a triangle before, I like it!
Painting time is really the only time I watch Netflix. This is “On Top”, a really fun documentary about famous NYC nightclub personality Suzanne Bartsch. We saw a fragment of her fabulous party costumes while in NYC at the FIT museum in 2015.
This has been such a mild winter, this day was the only day I’ve had to break out my down parka. Not a single snowflake! Does that mean it’s gonna be a wicked hot summer?
This old unfinished painting of Kate Moss is getting a make-over into DISCO KATE. Yeah!
Sometimes a girl just needs to snarf a big ol’ bowl of seafood and noodles.
Can you believe this Goo is two? With the baby fits to go with it!
Here’s one of the little cupcakes I brought to his daycare on his birthday. As you can see, Maggie dog was verrrrry interested.
After this entry I have a date with this canvas in the basement. And maybe an episode of “You”.
I still think my eyebrows are too dark. Would I tint them again? Nope. Maybe I’ll try lash tinting some day.
Look it’s the Lego cake I made! I made my mother’s carrot cake recipe and ordered the candy Legos on Amazon. It was easy to make and everyone seemed impressed.
Sweet Goo. That’s one of my maternity dresses and I still wear it all the time, because it’s a classic wrap dress that doesn’t scream “maternity”. Hell if Pink Blush had other patterns that weren’t so Old Lady wallpaper-ish, I’d order a few more.
It’s pretty crazy that Christy and I had babies only one month apart. Sure, our journeys were totally different–but the outcome was the same. Cuteness!
Everyone and their mom is doing a “10 year comparison” shot, so here’s mine. My face doesn’t look that different, 10 years apart. Now, my decolletage is another story…(sob)
Dog art at the vet. Maggie now wears diapers at night. Old age is no place for sissies.
Book art, outside the downtown Everett library.
I came up with what I thought was a very clever tweet the other day, but none of my Twitter followers seemed to think so. That’s what I get for having a bunch of artist followers! I started Twitter as a means to promote my art, but then I just ended up following a bunch of comedians on there. You understand.
Guess what’s happening in about two weeks? Another frozen embryo transplant, yeeee HAW! I’m SO excited. I still have to give up coffee and Trazodone (waiting until the last possible minute of course), but otherwise it’s ON. So the next time I sit down to blog, I will be pregnant again!
Brunch with my Broad. Love her ringer tee.
And this brings us up to today, and my sexy new lilac Adidas sneakers which were 50% off and therefore impossible to resist. Catch you later, blog-logs!
