“I generally avoid temptation unless I can’t resist it.”
Hey blerg, it’s been a minute, eh?
I admit, I haven’t thought of you very much lately. Once the initial thrill of updating my blog appearance wore off, then it was like...eh…
This photo, for example, is from September 17th, which seems like ages ago! The sun was shining and the baby was still picking blackberries. Look at that berry grin.
It’s a just a few weeks later but it’s suddenly FALL around here. It was 38 degrees outside this morning! Time to bring the hibiscus inside!
I’m not feeling particularly “chatty” this evening but I had to hop on the computer to fill out some paperwork and Josh went to the gym so here we are. Me, blog, and a big cup of Sleepytime.
I had this really glorious idea of finally making myself a neatly organized sewing nook and forgot to take into consideration that the height of this work table is too high for my sewing machine! The foot pedal won’t reach the ground! Cue the sad trombone.
I went and had a haircut a few weeks ago to bask in the pregnant glow of my hairdresser. This is it, for a while…I feel like my hair has been getting shorter and shorter and before it verges into a Mom Cut I want it long again! I mean, I AM a mom but that doesn’t mean I want a Mom Cut.
This Goo made me a Mom. Here he is one year ago, in one of my favorite pictures of him of all time. Gooooo.
What have I been doing lately? Nesting a bit. Painting a little. Going to the gym. Drinking a shitload of coffee that I will have to taper off of in a couple of months (BOO TO THAT).
Enjoying the onset of one of my favorite months of the year, OCTOBER! Halloween goods galore!
Huh?
Goo and I play outside, draw in the basement, watch “Blippi” (don’t ask) and have Good Times with the hat bin. This kid is fun!
“Winston the Whale” is a tattoo artist I found on IG who lives in Portland who may be the first artist to inspire me in 20 years (!!!) to get a tattoo. Good thing his waiting list is over 500 people long and it will never happen!
At this point getting my shitty old tattoo lasered off is nearly as exciting as getting something over the top of it.
More progress on this little lady. I was just commissioned to paint another Louise Brooks, YAY! I love her.
Maybe a landscape after that. It’s been a while.
I did fluid art with a friend today and had ZERO desire to start back up again, bwa ha haaaaaaa.
I may talk a lot of smack about everyone’s obsession with pumpkin spice this time of year but ya know? This was pretty tasty.
Joshy feeling better combined with occasional shorter days at work equals more family hikes, hurrah!
So beautiful. It was even more magical-looking in real life.
Look at that cutey Goo. He loves the outdoors as much as us.
Weirdly, my neighbor’s crocuses always pop up this time of year. They are pretty pretty!
Well, I bought my first Old Lady Skin Cream recently. After an exhaustive search, I settled on a nice 2% BHA from “Paula’s Choice”. I’m hoping it will revitalize my sun-damaged decolletage into something that resembles…ah…what it looked like 10 years ago. I have, hiiiiigh hopes!
Stay tuned and I’ll tell you all about Goo and our trip to Boise next!
