Another Lulu painting and an “L & R” date
For some reason having the new computer monitor and a new blog background is making blogging more fun for me lately. Now if I could just figure out how to make the overall font size for the entire blog BIGGER…I used to always ask questions in the WP help forums, but those nerds can be brutal. So I try to figure things out on my own now, but it can take a while.
Thanks to the MRI last week, we now know what’s wrong with Joshy: torn meniscus. That would have been useful information about FOUR MONTHS AGO, but eh, it’s not like doing physical therapy over the past four months has made things WORSE, it just can’t repair something that has to be repaired surgically. He’ll have to have surgery this year, maybe soon…helloooo, more medical bills. I’m sure tired of receiving them in the mail.
On a brighter note, here’s Goo learning how to pick blackberries. He unfortunately also thinks that “snowberries” are for picking and eating, but hasn’t gotten far with the eating. I keep teaching him that the other berries are poison, and “BLECH”. So he’ll attempt to eat one and immediately spit it out. Per the Internet, snowberries are poisonous, but taste so disgusting that it’s rare that you will get sick from eating them. And he can’t reach the Oregon “grapes”. Yet.
Word, Ru Paul, wooooord.
I took little Miss Ronia, nearly 9 years old (!) on an “L & R” date last week. We had our nails done and then stopped for ice cream on the way back to her home. Josh had a short day at work and was able to watch the baby. At the nail salon we went to near the mall, Ronia’s manicure and pedicure were only 10$! My fingernail shellac was slightly steeper at 35$, but the woman did a very nice job and it will stay on for a couple weeks. After this I’m planning on taking a shellac break until the next holiday. Halloween? It might be Halloween.

I met up with Brenna and Ronia at the mall, where Brenna was doing the bulk of the school clothes shopping at H&M. Ronia fell in love with this pink unicorn glitter tape dispenser, so I took a picture to remember it later on.
Brenna has a really amazing fuchsia bush in her front yard. I should get a clipping. I love fuchsia!
Halleluh the smoke is cleared at last. Yesterday the sky was beautiful and BLUE, and today as well. The baby is napping currently but we are definitely doing something outside today, as it is supposed to be the last hot day this week before temps plunge down into the late 60s. Dog walk and water park maybe? Or at least the little pool outside. He loves that little pool.
Here’s the current painting: a very small Louise Brooks. I’m messing with the face a lot, her mouth is hard to get right. I also enlarged her eyes because I like that better. The hardest part is figuring out what color to make her dress! Red? Green? Silver or gold?? The right color could make or break this little painting. Wish me luck.
