Art, nature and keeping it fresh
Hello, howdy do, tiny prince of peek-a-boo–whoops, sorry about that, many of my brain cells have been replaced by children’s books and nursery rhymes.
Hey that means my memory isn’t TOO bad off, right? Speaking of memory, I recently bought some ginko biloba at the store and slipped it into our daily pill boxes. I’ve been meaning to take it for years…but never remembered to buy it. Heh.
Currently, I am home after a ridiculously short day at work, due to patient non-compliance and overall patient exhaustion. Arriving to work at 8:30 is great for ME, but not so great for the sick people I try to rouse in the early morning hours. Heigh ho.
Josh is having an MRI of his lower body today, as he is still having some pain and weirdness, even after months (since May). He’s been feeling a lot better and we cringe to pay so much for this MRI (even after insurance), but at least this way we will rule out structural damage. If the MRI shows nothing (like we suspect), the next step is a rheumatologist.
Mr. Baby is napping. I’m still getting used to this new computer monitor, which seems really big and really BRIGHT, even though I fiddled with the settings. I had to change my blog background; that neon yellow was getting on my nerves. Can you imagine? Annoyed by neon?
I also realized today that I no longer have “sitemeter” installed, and I think maybe it shut down a few years ago and I just now noticed. So I have no idea who visits my blog! This is like the “Good Old Days” of blogging, when I had no idea who visited and therefore felt free to prattle on endlessly about every personal detail in my life without fear of repercussion, HA!
I don’t do that any more. I’ve slowly been removing old blog posts, leaving up special trips (like Burning Man) or good times (like camping). The day-to-day blathering doesn’t need to stay on the Internet indefinitely.
I’ve been doing the same with pictures on Flickr. I’ve been on there since 2007, dealt with many perverts, and am considering taking down the majority of old pictures in the next year or so. Maybe when I turn 40?
Except I’m not really planning on turning 40 for a while (sweetie darling), just going to hang out at 39 for a while.
I love this picture of Goo with Jerry. Lisa gave me that doll a million years ago. I’m seeing her on Labor Day and I’m stoked! Miss that girl.
The Broad’s birthday is this Saturday and since I knew she had the day off I called her yesterday and we yakked for about an hour. My boyfriend Edward yowled a lot in the background.
Despite the disgusting smoke layer from all of the various wildfires this summer, we still went camping last Friday! We didn’t arrive at the spot until 8 pm, because Josh had a co-worker call in sick and he had to work a full day. The baby didn’t go to sleep until 10, and per usual, he slept poorly (up at one, up at 4, etc…).
We brought the queen size air mattress this time around (luxury!) and it was my idea to bring the baby’s crib mattress, but in spite of these things he still slept like crap. BABIES.
The other hilarious mishap was that both of us managed to overlook the giant tub of CAMPING GEAR and it didn’t get packed in the van! No means to cook food, no pots and pans, no flashlights, nada. We won’t make that mistake again! I hope.
I snapped this graffiti in the porta potty while camping, posted it on IG, and promptly lost followers. Guess what? I’m fine with that.
Inspiring street art, on IG.
I was dying for another portrait painting after all the fluid art. Guess who?
I have a nail date with Miss Ronia today! It was my idea. I love that kid and after the week we spent on the lake I wanted to spend more time with her. Pictures to come!
