Keeping busy, Middle Aged Realness and bears
Howdy bloggage. Summer must be near, because the salmon berries at the park have started popping up!
I feel somewhat deceived by my weather app. Today was supposed to be a high of 83, now it’s saying 79…and not a speck of blue sky out there.
Freshly re-lashed. We had one of those budget Come to Jesus moments this month and decided to make some changes for the month. Him: giving up beer. Me: giving up nail shellac, buying coffee drinks (drinking coffee at home is fine). Both: no Amazon, no eating out.
Look at this little cutie. I just put him down for his morning nap. I was planning on using this time to blerp out this blog entry and paint my toenails. If I’m lucky, maybe I’ll have time to work on the current art project.
I bought some Japanese nail decals off Amazon and gave them a whirl over my bare nails. They were so TINY and delicate I had to peel them off the sheet using tweezers, and the pressure of the tweezers alone ruined about a third of them. Would not purchase again.
My neighbors have planted a ton of foxglove in their front yard. It grows wild in our backyard–what’s left of it, anyway, after I accidentally “weeded” it out the first year.
Some recent projects lined up on the ledge. Fluid art has made me a busy painter again! I love being a busy painter!
My poor little brother. He’s recently had a major life change involving his pastor career and him and his wife had to move back to Idaho to temporarily live with her parents while they figure out what their next move is. They attended a retreat about an hour away from our home recently, and stopped by to stay with us for a few days on their way back to Idaho.
My brother appears to be holding up well! Look, he even made a new friend!
Every spring I have to photograph my neighbor’s neon pink shiny flowers. They are very attractive!
Little rabbit friend spotted while parked during a nap drive with Mr. Baby.
Would you believe that Bear Schnubs is ten years old??? The same age as our marriage, which also turns ten this year. And the same number of years I’ve been sober.
Time, you go too fast.
Here is the current project–it being Pride month and me having an enormous collection of rhinestones and plain wooden stars–the rainbow rhinestone star was inevitable!
I found this recently and cackled–SO TRUE. Especially that damn Elmo region. Although he’s starting to get a little burnt out on Elmo…thankfully.
Giving you Middle-Aged-Lady Realness, including but not limited to: floppy hat, signature oversized necklace, paisley top and sun damage. Sweetie darling, I will be 39 this year! Finally I will achieve the Patsy age I’ve secretly craved since age 34!
I mean, I’m reading Agatha Christie novels now! Watching “Midsomer Murders” at night while I sip my Sleepytime! Youth? What’s that?
Ahhhh…HERE it is. Youth. And how stinkin’ cute.
I never win anything but I randomly entered a drawing on IG by an artist I follow and won a piece of her original art! She let me pick the three colors I wanted. This picture is actually horrible, it’s much cuter in real life.
Here’s my fluid art heart on the right. I painted it on Mother’s Day.
Currently my in-laws are staying with us. We are going to a BBQ put on by one of Josh’s co-workers tonight, tomorrow will be another BBQ for Father’s Day at his uncle’s house, and then tomorrow night Josh and I are going to a ROCK CONCERT. Can you believe it? I don’t think we’ve been to a concert since we saw Die Antwoord when I was pregnant…two whole years ago.
I don’t buy “Vogue” anymore but I think this cover is beautiful. So nice to see a supermodel on the cover, nature behind her, and that amazing rainbow dress.
That brings us up to date! Here are my mens in bed with their bear books and a bear friend. Mawwwwwww.
