In 2008 I started the Boy his own Flickr account under the name “DJ Magic Elf” (the name he spontaneously threw out when I asked him his DJ name in this video). He has zero interest in updating his account and I have a daily interest in keeping mine refreshed (it’s been 5 years and I still love ya, Flickr) so it’s been mostly ignored.

However, yesterday he e-mailed me a bunch of photos from his iphone and I thought, why not add them to his Flickr account? So here’s a few:

His current mustache resembles this one. Maybe a little thinner. He’s shooting for the John Waters, you know. He even used my eyebrow pencil to shade it in!

Yesterday he went up to the mountains to take his second avalanche class with his uncle. They had planned to ski afterwards, but it was raining.

Just two weeks ago avalanches were responsible for killing four people–three skiers at Stevens Pass, one snowboarder at Snoqualmie. The Boy was skiing at Snoqualmie the same day that the snowboarder was killed. It was all over the local news.

There was a reporter at the avalanche rescue course yesterday from an Ellensburg newspaper. After the course the reporter approached the Boy, taking photos and asking questions about the avalanche fatality. So…he might be famous! In an Ellensburg newspaper! Woo hoo!

His work schedule is back to Monday-Friday again. He was debating last night whether or not to go skiing today, but decided this morning naaaaah.

Here are a couple photos from our Sunday outdoor run/walk from last week.

I had been whining about how I couldn’t bring my camera (which is fairly large and heavy) on our run/walks, and he offered, “I can take pictures with my iphone…” and I sniveled, “But that’s not the same…”

Pretending to run here but Maggie isn’t quite as good at faking it. We run so slowly that the dogs walk while we’re running, which is kind of funny. It’s not about the speed. Having to run fast is what put me off of running for…most of my life. Running the mile in gym class? Hated it!

Jogging slow with walk breaks and two sports bras? Tolerable! In fact, I decided that my next goal is to run a 5K. That’s only 3 miles…I can do that. Now I just need to start researching which 5K I wanna run. Of course it has to be a dress-up one. Otherwise, why bother?
